Travis,
ReplyDeleteYour rule 4 might leave you open to some embarrassing questions from your students. We all know that the meaning of some words have changed over the years and for some of them, the true meaning is almost gone. The context in which the word is used gives the true meaning of that word. For example, it's okay to call a female canine a bitch, that is the correct term for a female canine, but not a female human. Just as stud is the correct term for a stallion (non-gelded male horse), but it also means a very good looking guy. Your students might get to some sites they shouldn't while looking for something that has a double meaning.
I like your rules their simple for students to follow. Also be careful on rule #4, you might get questions on to what students can search on the internet and cannot.
ReplyDeleteYour rules are very straight forward. I really like that. They are great rules but I don't know what grade this is for or what class it is referred to. I think I agree with your last rule. I think when students email anyone, they should be able to get their point across by expressing their emotions.
ReplyDeleteI think you have got your point across, I rally liked that last rule about being creative. I just would be careful about leaving that door open.
